Fish Cutlets can be made with fish like pomfret (paplet), kingfish (surmai) , Indian Salmon (Rawas). Here I have used Kingfish. It is an easy recipe as fish gets cooked very quickly. It tastes absolutely yummy.
Ingredients
200 gms fish fillets
1 tsp green masala (garlic, coriander, green chilies)
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chilly powder
4-5 potatoes
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Lots of coriander leaves
1 slice of bread
2-3 tsp rice flour
Procedure
Marinate fish with green masala & salt for 20 mins. Then steam the fish for 6-7 minutes. Now remove the bones & skin & keep aside.
Boil potatoes & mash them. Mix the boneless cooked fish. Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric, red chilly powder, salt, chopped coriander leaves & mix well. Finely chopped green chilies can also be added for extra spice.
Take a bread slice & wet it with water. Squeeze out the water completely from it. Now mix it with the potatoes & fish .
Make round shape of cutlets & flatten them a bit. Coat them in rice flour before frying. This gives it a crisp covering.
Shallow fry them on both sides. Fish Cutlets are ready to be served. Makes an excellent starter or an evening snack. It can be served with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
