Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji - Popular street food of Mumbai. Made with mashed veggies like potatoes, tomatoes, capsicum, cooked with pav bhaji masala.




Ingredients


8-10 florets of cauliflower

6 potatoes

2 chopped onions

3 chopped red tomatoes

1 capsicum

1 carrot

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

2 tsp pav bhaji masala

1/2 tsp turmeric

1 tsp red chilly powder

1 tbsp Oil

Salt to taste

Lots of butter


Note : The proportion of the vegetables can be altered according to individual liking.


Method


For the Bhaji


The Bhaji


Boil all the vegetables (except onions & tomatoes ) in pressure cooker till they are completely cooked. Mash them thoroughly & keep aside.


Now heat oil & butter together in a pan.The add chopped onions.Saute them well.Then add chopped tomatoes & keep sauteing till oil leaves the sides of the pan.


Then add ginger garlic paste, turmeric ,red chilly & pav bhaji masala.Let it cook for a minute constantly stirring in , taking care that it does not burn at the bottom of the pan.


Now add the other mashed vegetables & mix well.Some water can be added to adjust the consistency. Add salt to taste. Let it simmer for 5-6 minutes so that the flavors blend in each other.Garnish with coriander leaves.


Serve by topping finely chopped onions & coriander leaves.Sqeeze some lemon for extra tanginess.Add some butter for additional flavour .

The Bhaji is ready.


For the pav


Slit the pav in between & apply butter to them.Roast them on pan till they are lightly brown colour.The pavs also ready now.
