Chinese Fried Rice

A wholesome meal recipe of egg fried rice. It is a combination of lots of veggies, rice & egg.Can be made only with veggies also.


1 cup chopped cabbage

2 carrots finely chopped

1 egg

1 green capsicum

1 cup spring onions

2 cups rice

2 tbsp ginger garlic chopped

2 chopped green chillies (optional)

1 tbsp Soy Sauce

1 tbsp Chilly Sauce

5-6 whole black peppercorns

1 tsp black pepper powder

For the rice

Wash & soak rice in water for about 30mins.Then drain the water. Heat some oil in pan.When the oil is hot put 4-5 black pepper corns.Then add 1 tbsp chopped ginger garlic . Mix it well.To this add the soak rice. Mix it well for 2 mins.Then add double the quantity of hot water to it .

Allow it to boil till 3/4th of the water is drained. Add salt to taste. Now cover & cook for 8-10 mins.

Remember not to overcook the rice as it will get sticky.

Stir frying veggies

Heat oil in pan.To this add chopped ginger garlic & chopped green chillies. Saute it well. The add carrots, cabbage, green capsicum, spring onions. Keep some spring onions aside for garnish.

Then add the scrambled egg. Mix it well. Now put soy sauce & chilly sauce.

When all the veggies are mixed add the cooked rice. Adjust the quantity of salt according to taste. Soy Sauce has lot of salt in it. Sprinkle black pepper powder.

Remember to cook on high flame so that the veggies stay crunchy.

Egg fried rice is ready to serve. Garnish with spring onions.
