Mango Kalakand is a fun twist to the traditional kalakand recipe. It has soft, moist and crumbly texture with the burst of mango flavour. It can be described as Indian milk cake. It makes royal dessert for special occasions and the best part is that it can be made within few minutes.
Ingredients
1 cup mango pulp
1 cup paneer
2 tbsp milk powder
50 grams condensed milk
Few saffron strands(optional)
Few Pistachios
Dried rose petals
Method
Grate paneer and mix it with mango puree. Cook for 7-8 minutes. Add condensed milk and cook till mixture starts to thicken. The quantity of condensed milk can be adjusted as per sweetness of mango.
Now add milk powder to adjust the consistency. When the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan, switch off the flame.
Line a parchment paper on a tray. Grease it with ghee and pour the mixture. Tap with spatula to level it. Garnish with saffron, pistachios and dried rose petals.
Refrigerate for 3/4 hours. When kalakand is set, cut into desired shapes. Delicious mango kalakand is ready.
