Kharvas is a Maharashtrian dessert which is prepared with colostrum milk , high in proteins. This milk is hard to find most of the times. Instant kharvas is made with only 3 ingredients in only 20 minutes. The taste & texture is same like the traditional ones. Whenever one craves for kharvas it can be instantly made.
Kharvas can also be enjoyed on the days of fast.
1 cup milk
1 cup hung curd( chakka)
1 cup ( a little less) condensed milk
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
Generous sprinkle of saffron springs
Take a pan which fits in the pressure cooker. Add milk , yogurt & condense milk. Whisk it well so that there are no lumps. It should be a smooth mixture.
Now sprinkle cardamom powder & saffron into it. Steam this mixture in cooker without whistle for 20 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.
Refrigerate it for 3-4 hours . Cut into desired shape & serve chilled.
