Jawala is a tiny variety of prawns which are extremely delicious. Jawala is popular in the coastal areas and variety of recipes can be made with it. One of the favourites CKP recipe of jawala is jawala bhaji. Jawala is usually available around rainy season.
1 bowl jawala
1 chopped onion
Chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1-2 chopped green chilies (optional)
Besan as required
1 tbsp rice flour
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Pinch of Baking Soda
Mix all ingredients except jawala in a bowl.
Now add jawala to it. Jawala should be added in the end as it is delicate and may break.
Add few drops of water if required. The batter should be thick.
Heat oil in wok. Make small balls of batter with hand or with spoon. Deep fry till golden brown.
Serve hot with ketchup as snacks or as accompaniment to seafood meal .
