Kobichi Wadi ( Cabbage Fritters)

Cabbage is generally not very appetizing but when combined with some interesting add ons,it makes a yummy snack.Even kids take it as a tasty cutlet for a quick munch. Here's the recipe for cabbage fritters.





Ingredients


3 cups grated or finely chopped cabbage

1 cup freshly chopped coriander leaves

1cup besan ( chick pea flour )

2 tsp coriander + cumin powder

1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 garam masala powder

1/4 tsp roasted sesame seeds ( optional )

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1tsp red chilly powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

2tsp Rice flour

Salt to taste

Oil to fry


Preparation


Cut cabbage leaves finely. Heat 2tsp oil in pan & saute this chopped cabbage for 2 mins. Keep aside to cool.


Make a mix of ginger garlic paste,turmeric, red chilly powder, coriander cummin powder, roasted sesame seeds, coriander leaves, salt & besan. Add water & till it forms a not very thick paste.This paste should be a little less thicker than the normal fritter batter. Now mix the sauteed cabbage into it.


Grease a pan with oil. Pour this mixture into it. Steam it for about 10mins.


While it is a bit hot, cut them into rectangular blocks when still in pan.Then allow it to cool completely.


Shallow fry these in oil till golden brown on both sides. Serve hot with tomato ketchup. Can be eaten as snack or starter.
