Palak Dal (Lentils with Spinach)

Palak Dal is healthy recipe of dal with nutritious palak. Palak Dal can be accompanied by roti or steamed rice


3/4 cup turdal

1/4 cup moong dal

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

10-12 palak leaves

Salt to taste

For tempering

1tbsp ghee

8-10 garlic cloves

1 dry red chilli

2-3 green chillies

1 tsp cumin seeds

1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)


Soak both the dals for half an hour. Then pressure cook with turmeric & hing

Heat ghee in pan . Add all ingredients under the title tempering.Then add chopped palak & mashed dal. Add salt as per taste

Simmer for 5-6 minutes.

Serve hot with roti or nan.
