Palak Paneer

Palak Paneer is an interesting combination of spinach & cottage cheese along with Indian Spices.Here is the simple recipe for it .




Ingredients


1 big bunch of palak leaves

200 gms Paneer ( cottage cheese )

1 medium sliced onion

7-8 garlic cloves finely chopped

3-4 gree chillies finely chopped

1 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 tsp coriander powder

2 tbsp yogurt

1/2 tsp turmeric

2 tbsp oil

Salt to taste


Method


Blanch palak leaves in hot water for one minute & then wash under running water. Grind it to paste & keep aside.


Heat oil in a pan. Saute garlic cloves till golden brown. Then add cummin seeds & green chillies. Saute onions till they become translucent.


To this mix some whipped yogurt. Add coriander powder & turmeric powder & mix well. Add salt as per taste.Then add the palak puree & paneer cubes. Allow it to simmer for 2 mins. Do not overcook as palak will lose its dark green colour.


Turn off the heat & palak paneer is ready. Garnish with grated paneer. Serve hot with roti.
