Patti Samosa is made with samosa patti along with filling of our own choice. Samosa Patti are broad strips which are made with maida. Here I have used the store bought ones. These can be easily freezed for later use. Different kinds of fillings can be used. I have used the green peas filling similar to green peas pattice.
7-8 Samosa patti
Oil for frying
For the filling
1/2 kg green peas
1 medium onion
6-7 boiled potatoes
1/2 cup grated coconut
5-6 green chillies
3 garlic cloves
1/2 inch ginger
1/2 cup coriander
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
A pinch of asafoetida ( hing )
1/2 tsp turmeric
Take coconut, green chilies, ginger, garlic & coriander & make a paste in mixer. Boil green peas with a little salt till they are half cooked.
Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.When the oil is hot ,temper it with mustard seeds, asafoetida, turmeric, chopped onion & saute.Then mix the bolied peas & let it cook till peas are fully cooked
To this mixture add the coconut & green chilly paste. salt & cook it till the mixture is cooked well & no moisture remains.The filling is ready now.
Now take samosa patti. Bring them to room temperature. Then fill it with the green peas filling & close them.Take care that the green peas dont pop out. Fold them into triangle shape. Seal the end with maida paste or just water.
Cover them with wet cloth till they get fried else they crack & the filling comes out while frying.
Deep fry them on both sides till golden brown colour.
Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
