Ratalyacha Kees (Sweet Potato)

Sweet Potato ( Ratala)is generally relished at the time of fast. It is one of the energy giving foods on the days of fast especially. It is simple & easy to make.


200 gms sweet potatoes

1 tsp cumin (jeera)

2-3 chopped green chilies

1 tbsp ghee

1 tbsp coarse groundnut 

Salt to taste


Peel the sweet potatoes & grate them. Soak it in water else it will turn black.

Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin & green chilies. Then mix the grated sweet potatoes after squeezing all the extra water. Mix well.

Add salt & cover & cook for 5-7 minutes. Now mix some coarse groundnut powder.

Ratalyacha Kees is ready. Can be had on fasting days or even as snack or breakfast.
