Ribbon Pakoda is a popular South Indian savoury snacks recipe made with rice flour, gram flour and few Indian spices. It is made mainly at the time of festivals. But it makes excellent snack at all times. Since it is deep fried in the shape of ribbon hence it is called ribbon pakoda
Ingredients
2 cups rice flour
1 cup gram flour
2 tsp sesame seeds
1 tsp coasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp hing
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil to temper
Oil to fry
Method
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Now heat oil and temper the mixture. Mix with spoon. When the oil cools rub the oil to the mixture with your palms as to look like sandy coarse texture
Now make a semi soft dough by adding water.
Grease the chakli mould & attach the ribbon pakoda plate.
Heat oil to medium hot temperature. Press the mould to make ribbon in circular motion. Fry till it gets golden brown colour. Flip and fry on other side.
Remove and let it cool completely. Store in airtight container. It stays crisp for many days.
