Veg Manchow Soup

Veg Manchow soup is a very popular Indian Chinese Soup found in restaurants. It has lots of veggies and is spicy in taste. It makes interesting soup option in winter season.


6-7 garlic pods

1 inch chopped ginger

1-2 green chilies chopped

1 carrot chopped

5 french beans chopped

1/4 cup cabbage chopped

1 onion chopped

5-6 chopped button mushrooms

Salt to taste

1 tsp butter

Pinch of black pepper powder

2 tsp Soy Sauce

1 tsp Red chili sauce

Pinch of sugar

1 tsp Vinegar

2 tbspn cornflour

2 tsp oil

Spring onion greens to garnish


In a pan heat oil. When the oil is hot add chopped garlic , ginger & green chilies. Saute it. Then add all veggies except mushrooms. Saute for 2 minutes. Then add 4 cups water & let the veggies cook for 6-7 minutes.

In another pan heat butter and stir fry mushrooms for 2-3 minutes. Add a pinch of salt to it and keep aside.

Now in the pot of boiling veggies add salt, pepper, red chili sauce, soy sauce, sugar. Make a slurry with cornflour for thickening the soup. Before mixing the slurry add the strir fries mushrooms. Now add the cornflour slurry. Let it boil for 2 minutes. Turn off the flame and then add vinegar. Garnish with spring onion greens. Serve hot.

Tip :Veggies can be added in any proportion as per liking.
