Chicken Kadhai

Chicken Kadhai is a popular dish found in all the restaurants. Let me share an easy recipe so that it can be enjoyed at home.


200 gms boneless chicken

2 medium size chopped onions

1 large tomato

1 small green capsicum

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

2 tsp coriander seeds

2 tsp cumin seeds

7-8 black pepper corns

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chilly powder

1 tbsp oil

1 tsp ghee

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves for garnishing


Cut boneless chicken into cubes & marinate with half of the ginger garlic paste & salt . Keep aside for 20minutes.

Roast the coriander seeds, cumin seeds & peppercorns.When it cools down grind it into a coarse powder.

Heat oil & ghee in a pan. Put some cumin seeds .Saute onions & tomatoes till they become soft.Now add half of the course powder into it & the remaining ginger garlic paste.Stir it well for a while.Then mix turmeric & chilly powder along with salt.

Now add the marinated chicken & mix well.Put the remaining coarse powder & lots of coriander leaves.Check if the salt is right.Add 1/2 cup water & cover & cook for 5-6 minutes.Boneless chicken cooks in less time.

Now add the diced capsicum & cook for 2 minutes.Chicken kadhai is ready.It can be served with roti or chapati
