Thai Basil Fried rice is one of the popular street foods of Thailand. This flavourful rice is a blend of sweet, spicy and tangy taste. It is one of the easiest preparation which involves only tossing of
few ingredients with the right amount of sauces.
150 grams chicken breast
1 1/2 cup rice
10-12 garlic pods chopped
7-8 thai red chilies
50 grams fresh basil leaves
1 sliced onion
5-6 sliced mushrooms
1 tsp vinegar
1 tbsp fish sauce
1tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp oyster sauce
2 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
Pressure cook rice till 80%. Tip here is use less water for cooking. This will give separate grain in rice.
Cut boneless chicken breast into strips. Marinate with fish sauce & vinegar. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
Heat a wok with oil. When oil is hot add garlic & red chilli & saute for 30 seconds. Spice level can be adjusted according to liking.
Saute onions & mushrooms. Then add marinated chicken & saute on high flame.
In a bowl mix fish sauce, soy sauce , oyster sauce & sugar and mix well.
Now add cooked rice and sauce mixture. Mix well. Turn off the heat and then add basil leaves so as to retain the freshness.
Serve hot with dash of lemon. Thai Basil Chicken rice is ready.
