Instant moong dal idli is a good choice for breakfast which is protein rich and does not require the traditional fermentation.
1 cup moong dal
1 tsp ginger chili paste
1 tbsp curd
2 tsp rava
Salt to taste
1 tsp fruit salt (eno)
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
Pinch of asaefotida (hing)
1/4 tsp turmeric
Soak moong dal for an hour. Drain the water and grind it to coarse paste. Add rava , curd and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
Now add ginger chili paste and salt. Add water if required. It has to be like idli batter consistency.
Temper with the above ingredients.
Now add eno and mix slowly. Immediately steam the idli for about 8-10 minutes. Cool them before demolding them. Serve it with chutney or as it is .
Tip: Veggies like carrot, bell pepper can be added to batter to make it more healthier.
